Islawrffordd Caravan Park

Islawrffordd Caravan Park is a family run luxury caravan park and is an ideal setting for a holiday in Wales. Situated on the sea side of the A496 approximately half way between Barmouth and Harlech, it is within the Snowdonia National Park, offering clear views of Cardigan Bay, the Lleyn Peninsula, Snowdonia, Diffwys and Cader Idris mountain ranges.

 We can also boast that we are one of the few parks in the area that adjoins, with its own private access, the miles of safe and spectacular beaches that stretch along this beautiful coastline. The park itself consists of 216 holiday caravans within 12 acres of level ground.

Whether you are looking for a family beach holiday, good walking and hiking country or a relaxing break away from it all Islawrffordd Caravan Park is the perfect place to stay.

On site facilities

The on-site shop at Islawrffordd is run by Pat and Godfrey Davies. They will be happy to supply your general provisions and bakery requirements from the well stocked shop and in-store bakery. You can also buy souvenirs, toys and other sundry provisions and hire videos.

The amusements and take-away food bar are popular with young and old alike. They are easily accessible near the entrance to the park.

In the childrens play area there are two slides, climbing frames, two 'bouncy' animals and a swing for smaller children. They are all on a high quality safety surface.

Other amenities situated on the site include a launderette, toilet for the disabled and nappy changing room within our modern toilet block. 

Activities on and around Islawrffordd

At Islawrfford we have our own swimming pool on-site. It is available to patrons only and is run on a two hourly, three to four session basis daily. Entrance is arranged at park reception where a small charge is made for non-owners.

For those who enjoy water sports our park also offers a slipway for small boats and other watercraft which is available for caravan owners only.

If fishing is your activity of choice you can fish directly from the beach or take advantage of the daily fishing trips from Barmouth.

Other activities available in the surrounding area include:-

• Golf at Royal St Davids Golf Club, one of the best courses in the UK. It is just fifteen minutes from our park, in Harlech. Other courses are available at Porthmadog and Aberdovey.
• Pony trekking - available within a thirty minute car journey
• Railways - with the Ffestiniog and Snowdon Railways to the north and Tal-y-Llyn to the south, our park is ideally situated for the enthusiast of the "Great Little Trains of Wales"

Local entertainment

Henry's Bar and Restaurant is our family friendly site bar. It is  situated near the entrance to the park. Last summer it was the venue for our party to celebrate the opening of our new reception building by Nigel Mansell.

The Ysgethin Inn  is a traditional pub set alongside the river of the same name. It has been run successfully by John Hewlett for many years. The cosy atmosphere inside this wonderful Welsh stone building complements the great food and drink on offer.

Caravan hire

We have a variety of holiday homes available for hire

GOLD caravans have 2/3 bedrooms, double glazing and central heating. Full bed linen  is provided.

SILVER caravans have 2/3 bedrooms with panel heaters throughout.

BRONZE caravans have 2/3 bedrooms.

All hire units are non smoking and pets are not allowed on the site.

Entry to the park is controlled by a card entry barrier system.

CARAVAN HIRE CHARGES FOR 2007

EASTER From March 31st to April 14th shorts breaks are available

Minimum of three nights - Gold £90 per night, Silver £70 per night, Bronze - £50 per night

GOLD       Caravans are 2/3 bedrooms with double glazing, central heating and full

                    bed linen provided.                                                               

SILVER    Caravans are 2/3 bedrooms with panel heaters throughout.

BRONZE  Caravans are 2/3 bedrooms.

There is a £10 surcharge for prime position i.e. South perimeter fence.

Bedding hire is available for the Silver and Bronze Caravans at a cost of £25.

All the caravans on the hire fleet do not allow smoking or pets.

 Conditions of letting

1.    A 25% deposit is required with a completed booking form, the balance due 3 weeks prior to arrival. Provisional reservations are held for just 10 days without deposit, thereafter it will be cancelled.

2.    A holiday cancellation plan is available as WE DO NOT GIVE REFUNDS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. 

3.    Bookings are generally from Saturday to Saturday short breaks are by special arrangement.

4.    Official time of occupation is 2.00 pm with vacation time no later than 9.45 am on the day of departure.

5.    No ball games of any kind are allowed by the caravans.

6.    We reserve the right to change your allocated caravan should it be deemed necessary i.e damage etc

7.    We will not accept multiple bookings i.e family groups requiring 3 or more units.

8.    As of January 2006 pets are no longer allowed in the Hire Fleet.

9.    Any party found overloading the unit will be asked to leave immediately without refund.

10.  Any party found wilfully causing damage or excessive noise will be asked to leave without refund.

11.  All hirers will be required to leave a £30 cash deposit at reception on arrival for breakages and/or excessive/unacceptable cleaning requirements. This deposit in part or full will be kept or refunded after an inspection is carried out on the day of departure.

12.  All bookings are accepted strictly as described on the application form, any alterations must be made known to reception.

13.  All caravans meet minimum standard requirements of the WTB.

14. Please make all cheques payable to E G Evans & Sons Ltd.

15. Jet skis and boats are not allowed

16. Commercial vehicles are not allowed

17. Official parking regulations are for one vehicle only by the caravan

18. All hirers must arrive no later than 7pm Sunday - Friday or 8pm Saturday

Tents and tourers

Our caravan park has been popular with campers and caravanners for many years.

Luxury Super Pitches include: electric hook up, fresh/waste water and ellson point, tv connection to our own digital freeview network and gravelled hard standing for each individual tourer and awning.

Reservation/booking facility for tourers only.
 Camping and touring for families and couples only.

Surcharges

• Dogs - £2.00 per dog per night
• Extra car/cars - £2.50 per night
• Parties of more than 5 will be charged at the rate of £1 per head over and above that figure of  5 per night
• £5 per night for gazebos (not allowed during school holidays)

N.B.

• We do not accept bookings for camping
• We do not give refunds to campers wishing to leave the park before their departure date i.e. due to bad weather
• We do not accept all male/female parties
• All dogs must be kept on a lead/tethered at all times
• There is a designated area for campers who have pets
• Jet skis and boats are not allowed onto the camping field
• Commercial vehicles are not allowed onto the camping field

THERE IS A BARRIER SYSTEM IN OPERATION

All campers must vacate the camping field by midday on day of departure and arrive no later than 7pm Sunday - Friday and 8pm Saturday

HOW TO FIND US

Islawrffordd Caravan Park is on the sea side of the main A496 coast road, four miles north of Barmouth, six miles south of Harlech.

Tal-y-Bont Railway Halt, at which trains from Birmingham (New Street) and London (Euston) stop daily, is a mere eight minutes walk away from the park.
